How does Email tracking work?

Vtiger Email Tracking feature tracks email opens depending on a pixel invisible image embedded within the email content. So, when the recipient opens the email to view, the embedded image gets loaded. At this moment, a notification is sent to you regarding the email open count.

Email tracking may sometimes fail if embedded pixel is not loaded. This may occur in following scenarios:

  1. If the recipient formats his email in plain text
  2. If the recipient restrict the images to download automatically
  3. if the client's organization filter strips away all the images for incoming emails.
