What is default Value ?

When creating a record, you can have one value always show up as default rather seeing a blank space.
To add a default value to the field, please follow the below steps :
Example : If you wish to set up the default value for Contact Status as Not Contacted
1. Click on Menu
2. Select Contacts Module
3. Click on Customize
4. Select Contacts Fields and Layout
5. Click on the Edit icon besides the Contact Status field
6. Set a Default value for Contact Status as Not Contacted
