The Global Search feature (the lens or magnifier icon) is displayed on the top right corner of the CRM page and is used to search for or look for content in the CRM. It is available on every page in the CRM.
You can enter a search string or word - name of the record or module name, etc., to look for content. You can also use multiple words to search for information using a space or a comma as separators for each word. The Search displays the latest searches made when you click in the field. The Search field also gives you the option of looking up information:
- In all the modules of the CRM, or,
- In the modules you have added to the Favorites bar.
For example, if you search for Deals with the condition as All, the system displays all the Deals available in the system. The search results will display results for:
- The Contacts, Organizations, and Documents modules by default
- The modules in your Favorites bar
- Other modules, which you can view by clicking the drop-down option.
The results page also displays the following:
- The Deep Search option: The search will match all the records with the search keyword anywhere in the record. In comparison, the Default Search(when deep search is not enabled) will find the searched text if it starts with it.
- For example, say a Contact record, Rohit Kumar, has a text websense in its description field.
- If you search with the text sense
- The results show Rohit Kumar's record only if Deep Search is enabled. (As it is present under the text websense i.e., anywhere.)
- If you search with the text web
- The results show Rohit Kumar's record in both these scenarios. (As it is present at the start and anywhere else too.)
- Show Closed Records option: Enabling the checkbox will display closed records.
- Advanced Search option: This option lets you add conditions to your search such as the Module, Has all these words, Exact words/Phrase, and Any of these words.
Note: By default, closed records are not considered; you can display them by enabling the checkbox.
