FAQs

  • What is Calculus GPT?
    • It is a generative AI feature in Vtiger’s Calculus AI. It is based on Generative Pretrained Transformer (GPT) or Large Language (LLM) models. You can use Calculus GPT to generate email drafts, chat replies, rephrase texts, create summaries, and more.

  • What Generative AI features are available via Calculus AI?
    • Calculus AI offers many features, some of which are driven by Generative Pretrained Transformer (GPT) models (aka Large Language Models, LLM). Calculus GPT can be used in generating email drafts, generating replies, rephrasing texts, creating summaries, and more.

  • How will GPT models know about my company? Can GPT models learn about my business?
    • GPT models are built to ‘crawl’ all pages publicly available on the internet for information. If the information about your company is publicly available (website, articles, blogs, help documentation, forums, social media, etc.) and 3rd party websites, it will learn from it.
    • You can also fine-tune GPT models by feeding information specific to your company, products, and services. This will help the GPT model learn about your offerings and create responses based on that information.
    • Vtiger offers professional services to help build fine-tuned models based on your data.  For example, Chat GPT doesn't have access to your company data. It might not know enough about your company to provide the pitch, but it might help you create the correct pitch with your input.

  • Can GPT create/write a sales pitch for me?
    • No, GPT cannot create a sales pitch since it cannot access relevant company data. GPT can definitely help you to improve the quality of your pitch or your response based on your query.

  • Does Calculus AI use external GPT models?
    • Calculus AI  can be configured to use a specific Large Language Model such as Open AI’s GPT3.5 or Google Bard for the generative AI features. CRM Administrators can choose the model from the Calculus AI GPT Configuration page.
    • Calculus AI also supports fine-tuned models that are trained on your data. Vtiger offers professional services to help build fine-tuned models based on your Knowledge Base.
    • By default, it uses Open AI’s GPT3.5, which is an LLM trained on public data available before June 2021.

  • What about privacy? How is my data protected when I use GPT in Calculus AI? Is our data sent to external services such as ChatGPT or OpenAI?
    • Your data is secure. No data is sent back to external services such as ChatGPT or OpenAI.
    • Vtiger automatically redacts confidential information such as email addresses and phone numbers before sending queries and prompts to externally hosted GPT models.
  • Will the GPT feature in Calculus AI work for all languages, including English?
    • Yes, the default GPT models are trained to read publicly available text. Since a lot of content is publicly available in many languages (Spanish, German, French...), the GPT models provide reasonably good responses in most of these popular languages.

  • Does Calculus AI compose an answer for a Case or a Chat message from existing case history or public information? Can it access my internal knowledge base?
    • The default model (GPT3.5) creates answers or responses by referring to the publicly available information. Vtiger offers professional services to create a fine-tuned model that will access information within CRM (Articles, documentation, FAQs) and respond accordingly.

  • Can Calculus AI access my internal documentation, knowledge base, or help documentation?
    • The default model (GPT3.5) creates answers or responses by referring to the publicly available information. Vtiger offers professional services to create a fine-tuned model that will access information within CRM (Articles, documentation, FAQs) and respond accordingly.

  • How do I ensure GPT provides the correct responses about my business and processes?
    • GPT must be trained to provide accurate responses or solutions according to your business and processes.
    • To ensure that GPT is giving the right answers, the fine-tuned model training data must be large and accurate.

  • Can Calculus AI utilize existing CRM data in a prompt? Does Calculus AI have access to the actual data within the CRM?
    • Yes, for queries that are based on CRM data, Calculus AI looks at existing data in the CRM. Calculus AL will generate a better response for these queries.
    • For example, when prompted to get the Case or Chat Summary, Calculus AI will access the conversation text in the Case or Chat.
    • Custom-trained or fine-tuned models must be developed for some queries. Here are examples for which the AI needs custom training:
      • Write a sales pitch for John based on the data available in Contacts.
        • What parameters in the Contact should Calculus AI look at other than name and email?
        • Should it look at the city to match products?
        • Should it look at related products, etc?
      • Write me a summary of the conversation in case# CC123456.
    • Note: Vtiger offers professional services to build custom models.

  • Do you offer professional services to train/fine-tune the GPT model on our data?
    • Yes, Vtiger offers fine-tuning service. Please email [email protected] for more information.

  • Can Calculus GPT reply to my email when I'm not at my desk? Will GPT be able to reply to my emails when I'm not at my desk?
    • No, automated replies are not enabled for emails as of now. Auto replies are only enabled for messages coming to Chatbot. While automated email replies are possible, generative AI capabilities are not advanced to be relied upon blindly. Human supervision is still required. Also, to respond to the email, the AI models will need information that might not be available publicly.
    • What you can do, though, is click the Calculus icon while writing an email. In the prompt window, describe the email you want GPT to draft, and GPT will give you a draft for your email.

  • Can you use Calculus AI to create Tasks, Events, or something similar in the CRM? Can Calculus AI pull information from other modules as per your request?
    • It can convert natural language statements into actions. If you ask Calculus a query like, “Create a deal for $50,000 linked to John at XY Corp”, then it will create a deal linked to contact John and the organization, XY Corp.

  • Does the integration with GPT require the customers to have Calculus AI already in use in their instance?  Do I need Calculus AI in the CRM instance to use GPT?
    • Yes, you need to have installed the Calculus AI to use GPT.
    • Calculus AI includes the GPT feature by default, but you must buy the Calculus AI Add-on and additional GPT tokens.
