You can change your preferences if you do not wish to receive mention notifications via email.
Follow these steps to change your notification preferences:

- Click the User Menu on the top right corner of the screen.
- Click the Settings button.
- Look for the My Preferences section.
- Click Notification Preferences.
- Disable the Email checkbox under Mentions > Direct Messages.
