Introduction

Generate leads from LinkedIn!

LinkedIn is one of the best ways to network with people, coworkers, potential employees, and business contacts.

If you have a LinkedIn account and you are a Vtiger CRM user, then it’s time to integrate both via Vtiger Enrich.

Vtiger Enrich is a Chrome extension that allows you to create and edit contacts through LinkedIn.

Use Vtiger Enrich as a lead generation tool to turn interesting new LinkedIn profiles into CRM Contacts. You can later track, monitor, and engage them from Vtiger CRM.

Benefits

With Vtiger Enrich, you can:

  • Add or edit contact details
  • Reduce duplication by finding matching contacts
  • Import multiple connections to the CRM at once
  • Capture details like skill sets, qualifications, and experience
  • Create events and tasks related to the contact

Note: Vtiger Enrich is available for all editions of Vtiger CRM.

Let us move on to the next section where you will learn about integrating LinkedIn and Vtiger CRM with the help of Enrich!

Activating Vtiger Enrich

To enable Vtiger Enrich in LinkedIn, you need to do the following:

  1. Install Vtiger Enrich to Chrome
  2. Install LinkedIn in Vtiger CRM

Installing Vtiger Enrich to Chrome

You need to first add the Vtiger Enrich extension to your Chrome browser to use it in LinkedIn.

Follow these steps to add Vtiger Enrich:

  1. Go to the Vtiger Enrich extension in the chrome web store.
  2. Click Add to Chrome.
  3. Click Add extension.

Vtiger Enrich will be added and visible in your Chrome Extensions.

Installing LinkedIn in Vtiger CRM

Now that you have added Enrich to Chrome, you need to install the LinkedIn extension from Vtiger CRM’s extension store. Once done, you can do a batch import of connections, fetch in-depth contact details like skill sets, qualifications, and experience from LinkedIn to the CRM.

Note: You will be charged $40 per month for adding LinkedIn in Vtiger CRM.

Follow these steps to add a LinkedIn extension:

  1. Log in to your CRM account.
  2. Click the User Menu on the top right corner of the screen.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Go to Extensions.
  5. Select Extension Store.
  6. Search for LinkedIn Add-on for Vtiger.
  7. Click Buy
    • Note: Ensure that you have set up card details for a smooth transaction.
  8. Click Yes.

The LinkedIn extension will be installed successfully in the CRM, and your account will be automatically billed.

Note: If DUX-SOUP (lead generation tool) is switched on, then Vtiger Enrich will not work.

Using Vtiger Enrich

Once you log in to your LinkedIn account, you can see the green Vtiger Enrich icon on the top right corner. To get started, all you have to do is click the icon and enter your Vtiger credentials to log in.

After logging in, you can add contacts through any of these ways:

  1. By going to a LinkedIn Profile
  2. By looking in My Network > Connections
  3. By using the Search > People filter

When you are on any one of the above pages, you will see the Vtiger Enrich window on the right.

Finding matching contacts

A matching contact is one that is already present in your CRM account.

When you find a contact through any of the ways above, Vtiger Enrich first attempts to match it with existing CRM contacts by comparing LinkedIn fields with Vtiger’s contact fields.

Vtiger Enrich tries to match the fields in the following order:

  1. LinkedIn URL
  2. Email Address
  3. First Name, Last Name, and Organization Name
  4. First Name and Last Name

CRM contacts are displayed based on the match. You can either update the matching record or create a new one altogether.

This helps in avoiding duplicate records in the CRM.

Note: If you don’t wish to see matching records, you can enable the checkbox present at the bottom of the window. This displays connections which are not your CRM contacts.

Actions possible in Vtiger Enrich

Creating a Contact

Whether you find a matching contact or not, you can always add a new contact from a LinkedIn profile.

  • All you have to do is click the Create New Contact button, and all the fields are auto-filled with the LinkedIn profile details.
  • If you wish to add more information to the contact, click the Show more Fields button.
  • Click Save to save the contact in the CRM.

With your contact now in Vtiger, you’re all set to nurture it and win the deal!

Handy Hint!

You can also create an organization while creating a contact. Click the Create New Org under the Organization Name field to do so!

Updating a Contact

Consider there’s a contact in the CRM whose details are limited or outdated. You can easily replace the existing details or add new details using the contact’s LinkedIn profile.

  • Go to their LinkedIn profile, click the matching contact. Click Update under each field to add LinkedIn’s values or enter custom information. Of course, you can undo this action if you are not sure about it.
  • You can also select the details from the LinkedIn profile to copy them and click on the relevant field in Enrich to paste them.
  • Once you are done, click Save.

Importing Contacts

When you are looking for contacts in the Connections page (under My Network) or People Search, you can do the following in Enrich:

  • Import a contact - You can import a single contact by clicking the Import button.
  • Import a batch of contacts - You can import all the connections shown on a single LinkedIn page by clicking the Import All button.
    • You can import up to 10 connections at once from the Search > People filter.
    • You can import up to 40 connections at once from My Network > Connections.
  • Update or Import matching contacts - If a connection matches a Vtiger contact, you will see either the View Contact or View Match button. You can choose to update the existing contact record or import it as a new one. You can click the icon on the top right to view the contact record in the CRM.

Note: The Source field of all the CRM contacts created through Enrich will be set to LINKEDIN by default. This helps while tracking the contacts created or imported from LinkedIn.

Adding Events and Tasks

Did you know you can schedule a meeting or a reminder from Enrich? Well, you can.

  • Once you create a new contact or update an existing contact through LinkedIn, you can see two buttons in Enrich - Add Event and Add Task.
  • If you wish to create an event or a task related to that contact, click the respective button, and you will be redirected to the Events or Tasks page in the CRM.
