March Release Notes 2

New Feature

Versioning Add-on

  • You can install the Versioning Add-on and enable versioning at the Module level (from the Module Numbering Settings page).
  • This will enable you to revise the record and view the Version History. A new field called Last Revision Number will be added to every record, and it will display the number of revisions made
    • Clicking Version History will display the previous versions in a read-only view, with an option to revert the data to the previous version.
    • Clicking Revise will take a snapshot of the data and store it for future recovery.
    • The Add-on will display the last ten versions, with the latest version at the top. 
    • Limitations: Related record data (1-to-many, many-to-many relationships) will not be stored in the snapshot.
  • If the Versioning add-on is disabled or uninstalled, the Last Revision Number field, Revise, and Revision History actions will be hidden and won’t be visible on the screen. 
  • Here are the details:

Power BI Booster Pack

Power BI Booster packs are now available for the One professional edition. After installing the Booster pack, it will show the data on trying with Odata URLs:

  • Fetch records with a limit
  • Fetch records with selected fields
  • Fetch with conditions
  • Count the total number of records
  • Skip a few records from the result
  • Verify with a standard user
  • Verify custom module
  • Verify sharing rules access
  • Verify by making the quantity of the booster pack zero and one

Enhancement(s)

Chatbot

  • Train the Chatbot on FAQs 
  • You can now train the Chatbot to provide answers using either Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) or articles.
  • A new field, Chatbot Mode, under the Websense > Widget > Chatbot page, will let you select two types of modes for searching and responding to queries.
    • Local Only mode enables the bot to read FAQ titles and display answers from them. 
    • Local + GPT mode enables the bot to read two best-matching articles, send the content to a selected GPT model like Open AI, and get the answer.​​​​​

Delivery Note

  • The option to unlink a delivery note from a sales order is no longer available.

Group Inbox

  • Default From name for Group Mailbox
  • You can now set up and select a Default From Name for the ad-hoc emails you send from a Group Mailbox.
  • If you do not select a From name, the system will default to the user’s First Name and Last Name. 

Phonecall Module

  • Assign incoming missed calls to a user or a group in Phone Configuration.
  • The Assigned to field in the Phonecalls module allows you to assign incoming missed calls to the right user or group.

Server Scripts & Jobs

  • Autocomplete in Server Jobs & Scripts while writing code
  • Finding it difficult to remember helper methods while writing code? Do you find the need to refer to documentation often? 
  • With the autocomplete option now available in the  Server Jobs & Scripts feature, writing code will be easy. Autocomplete supports basic javascript as well as suggests the helper methods provided.
    • For example, if you type 'v' or 'vt,' the system will suggest 'vtap'.
  • Autocomplete will also suggest:
    • The different multiple requests that are available under vtap.macro.http.
    • Javascript keywords like var, await, JSON methods, etc.
  • You can also use the CTRL + SPACE key combination to see suggestions without typing any characters.

New Feature

Server Scripts & Jobs Module

  • Developers can now use the Server Scripts and Jobs module to write scripts for their CRM instances. 
  • With these scripts, you can, 
    • Write Javascript code that will execute on the Vtiger Server for your CRM instance.
    • Add custom cron jobs in VTAP to perform custom tasks. 
  • This helps you add custom tasks such as performing custom calculations, adding line items to quotes, fetching data from other systems, etc.  

Enhancement(s)

Deals

  • A Clock icon that displays the time spent on a particular stage.
  • The CRM displays Clock icons beside various stages of a deal. Hovering your mouse over the Clock icon will display the time you spent on that particular stage.

Delivery Notes

  • Unit Purchase Cost field in Delivery Notes.
  • Sales Orders contain two 2 fields for Purchase Cost:  
    • Item Unit Purchase Cost
    • Item Total Purchase Cost
  • The Unit Purchase Cost field is now available in Delivery Notes to ensure these values are not missed. This field will copy the Item Unit Purchase Cost value from the related Sales Order. 
    • Note: The Item Unit Purchase Cost values were not copied to the Delivery Note created for a Sales Order since the Item Unit Purchase Cost field was unavailable. 
  • This new field will also be available in the reports created for the Delivery Notes module.

Field Sales App (FSA)

  • Repeat option while creating a Beat.
  • Would you like to create a Beat for your salesperson by using an older one?
  • You can use the Repeat option to create the same Beat for different dates without entering all the details again. 
    • If Repeat is not enabled Route should only be created for one day.
    • If Repeat is enabled then the screen will show the number recurrences and other related fields, which you can select.
  • These Beats will then appear in the related Events in the Salesperson’s FSA.

Field Sales App (FSA)

  • Distance between Outlets (Organizations) 
  • Field sales agents can now know the distance between outlets or organizations in the FSA and the time it might take to travel that distance on their apps.

Gamification Add-on

  • The Gamification Add-on is available in the Vtiger Marketplace.
    • Title: Gamification
    • Availability: One Professional and Enterprise editions
    • Price: $4 per user per month
  • Want to make work fun?  Gamifying some aspects of work has many benefits:
    • Improves skills by making learning at work fun.
    • Motivates employees with the promise of recognition.
    • Improves productivity.
  • How does Gamification work? You can:
    • Create games for teams.
    • Run multiple games in your organization. 
    • Assign a game score for each participant. The Game Score is computed based on actions and points configured in the game rule.
    • Set the rules of the game by choosing the actions (for example, task completion, email sent, video watched, quiz taken, deal closed) and assigning points for them.
    • Restrict the game to selected participants or open it for members to opt in. 
    • Let games be visually represented in different themes (boat race, hot air balloons, running race).

Quickbooks 

  • Chart of Accounts Add-on for Quickbooks (QB).
  • Are you using different sub-accounts for your Products? 
  • The Chart of Accounts Add-on makes updating Product information from Vtiger to Quickbooks easy.
  • With this Add-on, you do not have to worry about overwriting Product Accounts (Income and Expense Account) values everytime there is a sync.
  • How does this work?
    • Install the Chart of Accounts Add-on. Copy all accounts from QB (Income account and Expense Account list values) to Chart of Accounts in Vtiger > Settings. Add the missing account types in Vtiger (books and credit cards are already available in QB).
    • The following are mapped during QB sync:
      • QB Income Account = Sales Account
      • QB Expense Account = Purchase Account

Products

  • Product bundle information for duplicate Sales Orders, Invoices, and Quotes.
  • If you create a sales order, quote, or invoice for sub-products from a product bundle by duplicating older ones, the new records will take the latest sub-products, quantity, and unit price from the bundle.
  • This will help if you frequently make changes to Product bundles where the quantity of the sub-products is changed. The new enhancement will ensure your Available stock and Committed stock are not affected.

Tally 

  • Pre-requisite information for Tally-Vtiger sync. 
  • To ensure your data sync is smooth, the following information is displayed on displayed on Tally’s Configuration Page:
    • Cess needs to be set up in Tally (within the Duties and Taxes category) before synchronization.
    • If the user is using individual item taxes, ensure that the tax names in Tally are set up exactly as CGST, SGST, and IGST to ensure seamless integration.
    • The synchronization process will prioritize organizations/ledgers and products/stock items before vouchers/sales orders/invoices. 
    • Install Multiple Addresses Addon, if there are multiple addresses in the ledgers of Tally.  
    • In the Client/Server Configuration, TallyPrime should be set to 'Both' mode. 
    • The port number from the Tally Client/Server configuration must be copied into the configuration file of the vtigerTallyConnector folder.
    • Accessing third-party applications from Tally/Server should be enabled.

Tally

  • Option to disable Organization details in the Tally settings page.
  • The Disable toggle button disables the link between the company or organization and Tally, so company data will not sync to Tally and vice versa. 
    • Note: Only the Remove option is currently available on the Tally Settings page.

Webforms

  • Spam notifications in emails.
  • You will receive an email notification about blocked Webforms. The CRM will send these messages at regular intervals instead of sending single messages for every blocked Webform. 

Webhook

  • Send Webhook API requests in an Array format.
  • You will now be able to send Webhool API requests as a child array (for the dot) operator for POST requests.
