September Release Notes - 1

Enhancement(s)

Email

  • You can add multiple email IDs (up to 10) in the To address field to the emails you send from Quotes or other modules to your Contacts or Leads.
  • Note: Merge tags that are related to personal identity like contact name, email ID, and phone number will be picked up from the first contact, whose email ID you add.

Email Campaigns

  • You can now view the bounce reason for bounced emails in your email campaign reports.
  • Email campaign reports will display the Bounce Reason (for both Hard and Soft bounces) under the Bounce List. 
  • Report downloads will also display the reason for the bounce.

Email Campaigns - Nice Scores

  • Nice scores will now be computed only for hard bounces.

Insights Designer

  • You can now create Funnel Charts for the Insights Designer. 
  • You can pin the Funnel Chart to the Dashboard. It will also give you edit, delete, duplicate, and refresh options.

Inventory - Shipping and Handling Charges

  • You can now select shipping and handling charges either in charge value or % of the charge from a drop-down. 
  • You can add a specific number as a direct value or for a % value of the total sum, you can choose the % and give the percentage value.
    • For example, if the %age value total is $ 15,250.77, and the customer wants to pay only $ 10,000 for Shipping & Freight, you can simply add the exact figure instead of the %age value.
  • Direct or % charges picklist option is:
    • Available for both Simple Fixed and Simple Variable charge types.
    • Available in all Inventory modules, including deals and work orders, and Inventory add-on modules (Bills, Delivery Notes, Credit Notes, and Subscriptions).
  • You can select the charge type option in the print templates.
  • Note: 
    • The picklist option is not available for Compound Charges. If you have edit access, you can change the charge picklist from % to Direct Price and vice versa.
    • By default, these charges will display the default values configured in the Tax Management settings page for both % and direct values.
      • For example, assume the Shipping Charge Percentage is 10% and the Direct Price is 100. If you create a sales order, by default the Shipping Charges will be displayed as 10%, and if you change it to Direct Price, the system will display 100.
    • Default Charge values are shown in the Tax Management page for both Simple Fixed Charge and Simple Variable charges during record creation.

Mobile App

  • New Feature
    • Inbox support is now available in the Mobile app.
    • With the Inbox module in the Mobile app, you can 
      • View your configured Inboxes.
      • View the My Mailbox and  Group Mailbox (which they are part of).
      • Send, reply, and forward emails.
      • Add comments to email threads.
      • Perform the following actions -mark as done, read, unread, delete, assign, and link to another record in an email thread. 
    • Note: Inbox cannot be configured in the Mobile app. Only if it is configured in the CRM (web version) can you see the Inbox and your emails in the Mobile app 
  • Enhancements
    • The business card reader now has a rotate option that you can use to correct the orientation of images taken with the camera. 
    • An option to copy the organization’s address will be shown when you are creating a contact from an organization or when adding an organization to a contact’s related organization field. For example, for B2B companies where all shipments are sent to the company address, this feature allows users to easily copy the address when adding multiple contacts under an organization. It saves time and helps avoid repeating the same steps.
    • Custom modules under Tools in the web app will be shown under Others in the mobile app. 
    • Role assignment options are now available on the Mobile app. You can go to the Roles page and choose assignment options from the displayed users and groups.

Privacy Guard - Data Erasure Requests

  • Privacy Guard has been updated with the following two new features:
    • You can automatically generate a random ID for data erasure requests for easier tracking and compliance.
    • You can use the new email template to acknowledge data erasure requests.
  • To ensure that data erasure requests have been processed and comply with privacy laws, data erasure requests should have Request IDs. You can send an email acknowledgement when a data erasure request is received which includes the Request ID. 
    • Note: The Request ID is stored in the contact record.

Purchase Order Sync with Tally

  • You can now sync Vtiger Purchase orders with the Tally Purchase Orders in both directions. 
  • For this sync to work, you must add the Purchase Order module to the Tally Settings page.
  • What will be synced:
    • Purchase accounts will be synced to the Vtiger Chart of Accounts.
    • Record account taxes and Item account taxes will be synced between Vtiger and Tally.
    • Discounts, shipping charges, and adjustments will be synced between Vtiger and Tally.
    • Purchase orders with the Sundry Creditor ledger will be synced to Vtiger. 
  • You can track the record sync in the Sync log.

Receipt Notes Layout

  • You can now enable charges, discounts, and taxes fields in Receipt Notes Layouts. 
  • Admins will have edit permission for receipt note amount fields. You can also disable the taxes at the field level after enabling the amount fields to enable Tally sync.
  • Note: 
    • If the Amount field is enabled, then all the item details fields will be displayed during receipt note creation.
    • If Enable Amount is disabled, then all the amount fields will not be displayed in the RN layout (for both new and existing RN records).
    • If Enable Amount is enabled, then admins can edit amount fields for all existing records.

Receipt Note Sync with Tally

  • You can now sync Vtiger Receipt Notes (RN) with Tally Receipt Notes in both directions.
  • For this sync to work, you must add the Receipt Note module to the Tally Settings page.
  • You can track the record sync in the Sync log.
  • What will be synced:
    • Receipt Notes with the Sundry Creditor ledger will be synced to Vtiger. 
    • If a Receipt Note is linked to a Purchase Order in Tally, then the same will also be synced and linked in Vtiger. 
    • An RN is synced, even if it is not linked to a PO.
    • Only an RN in the Received status will be synced to Tally and vice versa.
    • Record account taxes, Item account taxes, Discounts, Shipping Charges, and Adjustments will be synced between Vtiger and Tally.
  • Note:
    • A PO is required to generate Receipt Notes.
    • Taxes must be reflected properly in a Receipt Note according to the purchase account selected and individual taxes according to the product. 
    • Purchase order management supports the creation of a receipt note for a purchase order linked to a vendor, and the generation of a bill when the order is fulfilled.

Stockroom Sync with Tally

  • You can now sync Stockrooms in Vtiger with Godowns in Tally in both directions. 
  • How does this work:
    • You need to add the Stockroom module in the Tally Settings page to control the direction of the sync. The direction you choose for the Stockroom is applied to the stock transfers. 
  • Note:
    • You need to install the Stockroom Add-on and enable it in the module manager.
    • All Tally stockrooms that are synced from Tally should be classified as Warehouse.
    • If the stockroom is classified as Van, it should have a parent stockroom. Furthermore, a Van stockroom should be created under the parent godown in Tally after the sync.

Reports

  • You can now avoid repeating values when line items are selected as columns in reports.
  • Reports will now contain a checkbox/toggle - Avoid duplicating non-line-item fields for the same record, that will help you eliminate the duplication of certain item fields. This option is available in reports in all inventory modules where the item detail block is available.
  • If you enable this option, then non-item fields like Deal Name, amount, Invoice subject, etc., will not be repeated for each Item for the deal or Invoice.
  • Note: This option is disabled by default and will work only if you enable the radio button. 

Webservice

  • You can automate the generation of invoices for a Contact’s billable tasks at a fixed frequency using Webservice API - invoice_contacts_tasks.
  • This will run a Server Job for all billable tasks and trigger the Webservice to create invoices as per the required frequency. 

Workflow

  • A new function called: lowercase in expression in workflows is available for the update field and the create record tasks. 
  • This function will work for the Text field and Text Area fields. When you use this function, all the text will be changed to lowercase. For example, if the value is entered as ‘My name is John’, the text will change to ‘my name is john’, when the workflow is executed.
  • The Lowercase expression is available in Workflows, Process Designer, and Approvals.

User Roles

  • You can now assign records to Group and Group members from User Role settings. That is Admins can enable users to assign records to selected group Members. 
  • How does this work?
    • A new option, Select Groups and Group members, is available in Roles.
    • Users can assign records to the groups you select here and the related group members.
    • Note: If a selected user has the same role or hierarchy or subordinate role, as the selected group and group members, then they can assign a record to another group member.
