To send a WhatsApp message from the CRM using IMI Mobile as your service provider, you can use only IMI Mobile WhatsApp Templates (default or customized). These have to be approved by WhatsApp. To be able to do this, you must:
- Step 1: Create a WhatsApp template in IMI Mobile for approval from WhatsApp
- Step 2: Add an approved WhatsApp - IMI Mobile template to the CRM
Let us start.
Step 1: Create a WhatsApp template in IMI Mobile for approval
Follow these steps to add IMI Mobile WhatsApp templates to Vtiger CRM:
WhatsApp needs to approve the template you created. On approval, you will be able to send messages using the template through IMI Mobile.
Step 2: Adding an approved IMI Mobile - WhatsApp template to Vtiger CRM
Before you navigate back to Vtiger CRM to send the message:
Follow the below steps to add the IMI Mobile WhatsApp template in Vtiger CRM:
Step 1: Create a WhatsApp template in IMI Mobile for approval
Follow these steps to add IMI Mobile WhatsApp templates to Vtiger CRM:
- Go to the IMI website.
- Log in with your credentials.
- Click Tools.
- Click Templates.
- Click Create New on the top right. The Configure New Template screen opens.
- Enter or select the following information:
- Name: Enter a name to your WhatsApp Template.
- CHANNEL: Select the channel as WhatsApp.
- CATEGORY: Select the required category
- LANGUAGE: Select the language
- HEADER: Select the type of content you want in the header of the message. If you select Text as Header content, enter the relevant text in the Text field. For example, Season's Greetings can be in the Header of your message
- MESSAGE BODY: Type the WhatsApp message content you want to send to your contacts and save it as a template.
- FOOTER: Select the type of content you want in the footer of the message. If you select Text as Footer content, enter the relevant text in the Text field. For example, the name of your company, phone number, and email ID can be in the Footer
- Select the required buttons and the 'Locking the Template' option.
- Click Save.
WhatsApp needs to approve the template you created. On approval, you will be able to send messages using the template through IMI Mobile.
Step 2: Adding an approved IMI Mobile - WhatsApp template to Vtiger CRM
Before you navigate back to Vtiger CRM to send the message:
- Copy the approved IMI Mobile WhatsApp Template Body.
- Copy the Template ID displayed on the Templates screen under ID.
Follow the below steps to add the IMI Mobile WhatsApp template in Vtiger CRM:
- Log in to your CRM account.
- Click the User Menu.
- Click Marketing.
- Look for Marketing Enablement.
- Click WhatsApp Templates.
- Click +Add Template. The Create WhatsApp Template window opens.
- Enter or select the following information -
- Header: It should be the same Header type that you added in the IMI Mobile template screen
- Media Type: Select the media type from image, video, document, or text.
- Media URL: Upload media file URL
- Content: Paste the copied Message Body from IMI Mobile in the Content section. You can always customize the IMI Mobile Template content as per your requirements.
- Footer: It should be the same Footer type that you added in the IMI Mobile template screen
- Buttons: Select None or Call to Action, or Quick Reply
- Template Name: Provide a name for the IMI Mobile WhatsApp Template.
- Note: The IMI Mobile WhatsApp Template names provided here are from the Select WhatsApp Template dropdown list in the Contacts module.
- Template ID: Paste the copied Templated ID from IMI Mobile.
- Assigned to: Creator of the Template.
- Status: Select the status as Approve, Not Approved, or Rejected from the drop-down.
- Category: Select the required category - same as the one you selected on the IMI Mobile page.
- Module: The desired modules where you want the specific IMI Mobile WhatsApp Templates to be available.
- Merge Field: The selected fields will display and add to the IMI Mobile Whatsapp Template Content.
- Note: The field's data selected here will, by default, appear in the Contacts module > Send WhatsApp Message > Message Body section.
- Click Save.
