Introduction to Quick Create

Do you ever feel it is tedious to create records in different modules because you have to switch screens? We have got the perfect solution for you - Quick Create.

With Quick Create, you can create a record quickly by filling in only the necessary details. You can access this feature from any screen. Also, it saves you a lot of time! Isn’t that wonderful?

How to Use Quick Create

Quick Create is a simple feature that you can access from all the screens in Vtiger CRM. It is located at the top right side of the screen, under the Quick Create icon.

Follow these steps to create a record using Quick Create:

  1. Click the + icon displayed on the top right side of your screen.
  2. Choose a module from the List.
  3. Type the module in the search bar.
  4. Enter all the mandatory details.
  5. Click View Full Form to add other information.
  6. Click Save to save the record and go to its Summary View.

Clicking Cancel discards all the information you entered.
 

Fields available in Quick Create

Quick Create by default shows:

  • Mandatory fields
  • Fields enabled by default

 You can add a field in Quick Create by going to Settings > Module Management > Module Layouts & Fields. Skip to the How to Add Fields in the Quick Create section to learn more about it. 

How to Add Fields in Quick Create

 To add a field in Quick Create, you must enable it in the Module Layouts & Fields setting. 

Follow these steps to add a field in Quick Create:

  1.  Click your display picture on the top right corner of the screen.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Select Module Layouts & Fields under Module Management.
  4. Select the module to which you want to add fields in Quick Create from the Select Module drop-down.  
  5.  Click the Detail View Layout tab. All the fields in the selected module are shown.
  6. Enable the +Quick Create button for the field you wish to add in Quick Create. 

Follow these steps to create a field and add it to Quick Create:

  1.  Click the Detail View Layout tab.
  2.  Click +Add Custom Field.
  3. Select field type, add field name, and other details.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Find the newly created field and enable the +Quick Create button.

Note: The Quick Create window displays modules in the app from which you have clicked the Quick Create button (+ icon). 

For example, if you click the Quick Create button from Contacts, you will see Events, Tasks, and other modules available under Essentials.

You will see other modules in the same window.
