Clearbit is an application that renders social and professional data of customers such as social media connections, organization details, etc.
Clearbit Integration for Vtiger CRM
- Integrating Vtiger CRM with Clearbit Application (Enrichment Version), you can retrieve the updated social and professional data of the CRM customers based on their email addresses.
- With Vtiger CRM the minimum and mandatory criteria to retrieve the customer’s data provided by Clearbit integration is the customer’s email address.
- Retrieving Clearbit Integration data without the customer’s email address will throw up an error - ‘Please enter a valid email address.

Installing Clearbit Integration
Clearbit is not available by default in Vtiger CRM. You need to first install the Clearbit Extension.
Follow these steps to install the extension:
- Login to your CRM account.
- Click the Menu icon.
- Click the Profile icon.
- Click Settings.
- Look for, Extensions.
- Click Extension Store.
- Look for, Clearbit.
- Click Install.
Once the Clearbit extension is installed, you can find it under Settings in a Contact record.
Integrating Clearbit with Vtiger CRM
You need the API key to integrate Clearbit with Vtiger CRM. You can copy the API Key from your Clearbit account while you are setting up the Clearbit in the CRM.
Follow these steps to integrate Clearbit with Vtiger CRM:
- Login to your CRM account.
- Click the Menu icon on the top left corner of the screen.
- Go to Essentials.
- Click Contacts to go to the Contacts module.
- Click the Settings icon on the top right corner of the screen.
- Click Clearbit Settings.
- The Setup window is displayed where the Clearbit API Key has to be entered.
- If you do not have the Clearbit API Key, click the here link.
- Log in to your Clearbit account.
- Copy the Clearbit API Key from the Your API key window.
- Paste/enter the Clearbit API Key in the Vtiger CRM Setup window.
- Once the Key is saved, you receive the success message as displayed below. And you will be redirected to the Contacts page.
8. Select the contact whom you want to know more about and who has an email address.
9. Vtiger CRM provides the Clearbit button on the top right corner of the screen. Click the Clearbit button for Integration.

Retrieving Customer Data Using Clearbit
Vtiger CRM provides the Copy option to add the Clearbit data back into the CRM.
Let us now learn how to copy information provided by Clearbit Integration into the CRM.
Follow these steps to copy a contact’s information into the CRM:
- Login to your CRM account.
- Click the Menu icon on the top left corner of the screen.
- Go to Essentials.
- Click Contacts to go to the Contacts module.
- Select the contact for whom you want to perform the Clearbit integration and who has an email address.
- Click the Clearbit button on the top right corner of the screen.
- On the Clearbit Integration page, hovering the mouse on Contact Information and Organisation Information displays the Copy icon.
- Contact information includes Location, Company Name, Title, etc.
- Organization information includes Location, Employees Industry, etc.
- Click the Copy icon. The CRM displays the Copy pop-up window.
- Select information in the Select Field drop-down, which are fields available in the Contacts module.
- On copying, the selected contact/organization information in the Select Field will reflect in fields of a Contact/Organizaition record.
- Click OK to confirm.
- The CRM displays a Success Message as shown in the image.
The Clearbit contact details copied will be automatically stored and reflected in the contact record under the contact field chosen.
The Clearbit organization details copied will be automatically stored and reflected in the organization record under the organization field chosen.
Disabling the Clearbit Feature
Admin users can disable the Clearbit feature by disabling the Clerbit extension.
Follow these steps to disable the Clearbit feature:
- Log in to your CRM account.
- Click on the User Profile icon on the top right corner of the screen.
- Click Settings.
- Look for, Module Management.
- Click Modules.
- Uncheck Clearbit extension.
- Once you uncheck the Clearbit extension, the below success message is displayed.
Once the Clearbit extension is disabled, the Confetti feature is disabled.
